About
DaRousso is a designer fashion brand based in Piraeus, Greece, built around innovation, environmental responsibility and a human approach to design.
The brand first appeared in 2008, making its early mark at Athens Xclusive Designers Week, where it received the Best Catwalk Award. DaRousso has been a registered trademark since 2009.
In 2015, the company now operating as Georgios Roussos & Sia E.E. / Zero Waste and Nanotech Fashion Solutions L.P. became the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of the DaRousso designer brand.
Principles
From the beginning, DaRousso has aimed to give deeper meaning to fashion by combining innovative design, responsible production, functionality, comfort and technological development.
Our approach follows the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle, combining efficient material use with recycled materials and fabrics selected with consideration for their purpose and environmental impact.
DaRousso operates by supporting small local producers, skilled makers and the local economy.
For us, sustainable fashion is not simply about choosing a particular fabric. It means reconsidering how a garment is designed and produced in order to minimise its impact on nature and people.
Zero Waste
DaRousso uses zero-waste design approach in which waste reduction begins at the design and pattern-development stage.
Through pioneering prototype cutting methods and unconventional pattern construction, we achieve less than 1% fabric waste, maximising the use of each material.
Nanotech Fashion Solutions
Through Zero Waste and Nanotech Fashion Solutions, we provide personalised nanotechnology solutions developed on demand according to the specific requirements of each project.
This work extends our approach to innovation beyond conventional garment design, connecting fashion and textiles with technology, performance and specialised solutions.
Design
Our collections are created for different body types, needs and ways of wearing clothing, using volume, adaptable forms, multifunctional elements and unconventional construction.
We focus on maximum comfort, performance, freedom of movement and non-restrictive design. The body should not have to compromise comfort or natural movement for the sake of fashion or image.
We believe beauty comes from within and has little to do with physical conformity. Clothing should allow people to feel good, move freely, look good and still remain themselves.
Team
DaRousso is led by designer and Creative Director Dušanka Duric Roussos and developed by a dedicated team working across design, development, production and company operations in Piraeus, Greece. Our team is made of people who love their job, are very good at it and think out of the box, which distinguishes our work from others. All production is made at our workshop.
Keeping design, development and production closely connected allows us to create and test original constructions, develop new zero-waste solutions and remain directly involved throughout the process from idea to finished garment. It also ensures strict quality control and contact with each garment that leaves our facilities.
